The history of the Violi family has always been linked to the territory of Val di Chiana, its history and its products of excellence. Originally from Cortona, Gian Franco’s grandfather Oreste decided to move to Monte San Savino, on the opposite side of Val di Chiana, trying to develop his own idea of agriculture. In Monte San Savino, at more than 300 meters above sea level, in a strategic position overlooking the entire valley, the Violis started one of the first modern farms in the Arezzo area: it was in fact the first company to buy a combine harvester with which to thresh the cereals, especially wheat, barley and corn, cultivated in the valley.
Over time Gian Franco and his wife Tiziana, together with their children Saverio and Federica, have tried to develop the company, trying to link the technology of the most modern machineries with the traditional local productions. Therefore, to the cultivation of cereals has been added the cultivation of another typical product linked to this territory and known worldwide: in fact, from the lands of Monte San Savino come the grapes from which the wine “Chianti Colli Aretini” is obtained, one of the most known and prestigious wines in the world.
With 6 hectares of Sangiovese vineyards and more than 500 olive trees (many of which are centuries-old, from which the precious extra virgin olive oil is obtained), the Violis try to value, with updated techniques and new agricultural equipment, the genuineness of the products of a territory which is one of the most beautiful in Tuscany.
